What A Great Semester

TMAFRE(dos)

Wow, I can’t believe we have one more week of classes. This has been a fast paced semester and God has really blessed. We have had so many wonderful things happen. Let’s recap a few.

TMAFRE -Dos

In October we went to Floral, MS, for “The Most Awesome Fall Retreat Ever II”. We had 30 students and alot of fun. It was a great time to get to know each other and get away from school for awhile. We fished, laid in hammocks on hammock island, played the greatest game of ultimate frisbee ever, and most importantly was challenged to make a difference for Christ on our campus.

Tailgating

Since our building is right across from the football field, this was a lot of fun. We watched football games while we ate burgers and hotdogs, all while never leaving the BCM area. We had lots of people come and be a part. The guys painted themselves each week and the group led the cheering section for the Weevils. What a great time.

One

In October we partnered with Wesley and MBSF and had the One event downtown. What a great night of music and testimony. The cardboard testimonies were such a blessing and Joe really shared a beautiful picture of Christ with his testimony. Definitely will do this again. We had around 300 people there.

Intramurals

We have had a successful semester with our intramural teams as well. Daniel has done a great job keeping us involved in the different sports and our students have played hard. More importantly they have been good sports. It is a great witness to our campus to see our minsitry involved and displaying a Christ like spirit.

Refuge

Each Wednesday night God has really blessed our worship time. The band has been awesome and we have had great attendance. We have really stressed this semester the importance of our witness. I have challenged our students each week to remember who we represent. We are walking testiments of Christ love and goodness.

Christmas party

The last event of the semester will be our Christmas party. It will be on Friday December 11 at 5:30p.m. This will be potluck so everyone remember to bring something. We will also play Dirty Santa so bring a gift (not a gag gift) that costs no more than $10.

I love being the BCM Minister at UAM and I thank God for what he has done this Fall. Can’t wait to see what the Spring brings.

First worship service in new facility!

Posted by Tracy on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Wednesday, March 8, the sidewalks dried out enough to allow public access to the new facility! We held our first worship service in a building that had been prayed and planned for 12 years. It was an exciting and powerful evening of worship, smiles, and Bible study.

BCM 2009

Well the new year is here and things are really hoping in our ministry. We are still without a building but the ministry is still going strong. Let me give some info so everybody can keep up with what is happening.

We are meeting at Journey Church for Refuge. Our normal time is 8:00 p.m. but we have changed it til we get into our building. We are starting at 6:00 p.m. The  Journey folks are feeding us supper and then at 7:00 p.m. we have worship. If you need directions on how to get to Journey follow the link to the right.

We are planning to be in our new building by the first week of February. Then we can get back to normal. We will be starting our family groups back up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

Hope you are having a great semester.

I resolve to….

Posted by Tracy on Monday, January 5th, 2009

It is that time again. The time where everything starts a fresh. The time where we can literally begin a new. That’s right New Years. I love this time because it generally brings excitement and encouagement. The old is gone and we look forward to what lies ahead. We had a great 2008 and God really blessed our ministry. I am excited to see what lies ahead in 2009.

I also love resolutions, they really give us a chance to think about things that are important to us. Most people resolve to either better themselves or better relationships with folks in their lives. I personally think that both of those things are wonderful and I hope we all set goals to improve both of those areas. But I hope we also reslove to grow closer to God this year.

For me it is an annual thing. I set goals for myself and family to grow in our spiritual lives. Whether it is bible reading, prayer times, or personal devotions. We must remember to keep active our relationship to God. It is just like any other relationship, if we don’t keep it fresh and exciting it will become boring and unfruitful. Unfortunately, that doesn’t bother alot of people. But I hope it bothers us.  i believe that if your spiritual relationship isn’t right it will effect the other relationships you have in your life.

So if you want to have an impact in your life and in the lives of the people around you, resolve to spend more time in your relationship with Christ. It will affect everything else in your life. I wish you all a happy New Year.
